For Forgotten iPhone Password, iPhone is Disabled! How to Unlock?

Every day, there is a very frequently asked question from iPhone users:
How to unlock iPhone if forgotten password? After entering wrong password more than six times repeatedly, iPhone will show us a disabled message with word:
“iPhone is disabled, try again in 1 minute”. Also, if you use iPad, there will be
“iPad is disabled, try again in 1 minute”. If iPod, there will be
“iPod touch is disabled, try again in 1 minute”.

Then, if you still want to go on trying your luck with too many unsuccessful attempts. There will pop up message “iPhone/iPad/iPod is disabled, connect to iTunes”. Now you will be crazy and search solutions online: I forgot my iPhone Password and iPhone is disabled! What to Do?

Here we will together discuss how to solve iPhone disabled problem. We can analyze three possible cases for the issue:

1. iPhone has already synced with iTunes before

At this situation, we have to connect iPhone to iTunes. Get detailed steps to reset password:
Step 1: Connect iPhone to the computer that you have ever synced iPhone with iTunes.
Step 2: Right click the iPhone at the left menu and then click on Back-up.
Step 3: Select Restore after Back-up finished. You now can restore iPhone from the last back-up in iTunes.

2. iPhone has never synced with iTunes

At the case, when you connect iPhone to a computer, there will ask for a password and say that iPhone can’t connect to iTunes. Do as the below tips to unlock iPhone:
Step 1: Hold Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears and then slide it to make iPhone turn off.
Step 2: Hold the Home button and then connect iPhone with the USB. When there appears a message let you connect iPhone to iTunes, stop pressing Home button.
Step 3: Now, iTunes will show you a dialogue that an iPhone has been found in recovery mode. Click OK, then Restore and the iPhone will be accessible now.

3. There is no computer

Now, we can use the Find My iPhone app and select Remote Wipe to start the restoring iPhone. Also, if we have backuped iPhone in iCloud before, we can reset password simply restoring the last backup in memory.

The above 3 situations with methods are how to solve iPhone disabled after entering wrong password. While, I have to say, for the 2nd case, we can remove the password, but all iPhone data will not be present. Restoring iPhone will delete all of data (songs, photos, videos, apps, and so on) on the iPhone. Be absolutely sure that you have backed up the content on your iPhone before restoring it. At last, learn a tip on iPhone password setting: we can configure iPhone to erase it after ten consecutive incorrect password attempts. This setting is off by default. It can be turned on by tapping Settings > General > Passcode Lock.
